Crimson Orb
Location / Moscow, ID
This pendant design features a complex web of intersecting red lines, reminiscent of a woven structure, while the warm light that radiates from its core adds a sense of depth and allure. The surrounding circles and curves represent the moon, and the rice paper symbolizes clouds, with the surrounding bands portraying the stars in the sky. In ancient China, the moon was often used to express one's emotions, such as longing for one's hometown or missing loved ones, reflecting the inspiration behind the designer's creation of this lamp.

Design Inspiration
The inspiration came from Frank Lloyd
Wright, his integrity andconnection; nature’s principles inspired a lot of my design.
“Beaufitul buildings are more than scientific.
They are true organisms. Spiritually conceived.” - Frank Lloyd Wright, 1941.
From his hanging lamp, I can see his natural elements like the color and the pattern. Green, yellow, orange and the pattern that looks like grass.
The wall-mounted lighting fixture from him makes me think of the moon. It is in a rectangular shape and the color of the light is soft yellow.

Building Process

Concept Statemen
With ideas learnt from Frank Lloyd Wright, the design of this hanging lamp is consists of circle and curves. The idea is that the circles represent the sun and the curves around represent the moon, rice paper represents clouds and the strips surrounding represent stars in the sky. They are all natural elements that inspired me in the design of this lamp.
